Ready to apply? Here’s what you need to know.

The main requirements:

 

• You must be at least 25 years old.

• Your current pets must be up to date on vetting, including vaccinations and heartworm prevention and yearly testing. They must be spayed or neutered.

• You must be willing to travel to meet your dog. We don’t ship animals and we give priority to local, qualified applicants.

• We don’t set up meetings with dogs without an approved application.

The application process:

​

• Can take up to 2 weeks.

• Our volunteers will call your vet, check in with your references, and confirm your home information. If you rent, they’ll contact your landlord.

• If your application is approved, the foster will call you. If it seems like the pup is a good fit, you’ll set up a time to meet in person.

• We will do an in-person or virtual home visit.

What else you need to know:

​

• Our adoption fee is $385.

• We don’t hold dogs for adoption at a later date.

• Having an approved application doesn’t guarantee you’ll get the dog you applied for. We do our best to make the best matches for the pups and the people.

• Your application will be kept on file for one year.
